PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
TAKE NOTICE THAT THE BOROUGH OF BERGENFIELD, IN THE COUNTY OF BERGEN, IS PROPOSING TO CHANGE THE USE OF .3 ACRE OF LAND IN WHITTAKER PARK, BLOCK 187, LOT 63 (ALSO KNOWN AS THE PAL COMPLEX) FROM OUTDOOR RECREATIONAL USE TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 13,000 SQ FT BUILDING FOR PUBLIC INDOOR RECREATION.
PURSUANT TO N.J.A.C. 7:36-25.6(a)1, A HEARING TO OBTAIN PUBLIC COMMENT ON THIS PROPOSED CHANGE OF USE WILL BE HELD AT BOROUGH HALL, COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 198 N. WASHINGTON AVE., BERGENFIELD, NJ ON MARCH 20, 2012 AT 7:00 PM.
ALL INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROPOSED CHANGE IN USE IS AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION AT RM 21, BOROUGH HALL, 198 N. WASHINGTON AVE., BERGENFIELD, NJ.

PUBLIC COMMENT ON THIS PROPOSED CHANGE IN USE WILL BE ACCEPTED DURING THE PUBLIC HEARING OR UNTIL APRIL 3, 2012. ON OR AFTER APRIL 4, 2012, THE BOROUGH OF BERGENFIELD MAY TAKE FORMAL ACTION TO APPROVE THE PROPOSED CHANGE IN USE.

Reservations are open for the 5th Annual Super Bowl Party sponsored by the Bergenfield Community Center Building Fund Committee (BCCBF) and the Bergenfield Police Athletic League (PAL) beginning at 5:00PM on Sunday, February 5th at Bergenfield’s #2 Home Place Fire House. Attendees will celebrate the last game of another season of exciting and frustrating football, with cheers for great passes and loud groans and exclamations at missed plays.

On November 22, 2011 the Borough Council adopted ordinance 11-2445 which amended Chapter 273 of the Borough Code entitles "Streets and Sidewalks". The amendment includes a new section regulating the placement of stationary or portable basketball hoops:
Leaf collection has been completed in Quadrant # 1. Leaf collection is currently about 85% completed in Quadrant # 3, and it is expected to be completed by the end of today. The DPW expects to begin picking up leaves in both Quadrant # 4 and Quadrant # 2 tomorrow, Dec. 9th. The goal is to complete at least one leaf pickup in all four Quadrants by Friday, December 16th.
